White Collar Panel at the Paley Center in NYC (06/08/10)
Boy oh boy, what a busy weekend... and spring! This weekend included dinner with friends on Friday, a visit to Mitsuwa on Saturday, Renegade Craft Fair on Sunday (avoided the rain too... woohoo!), and a day off of work yesterday. Yesterday alone deserves a bulleted list!
Late dinner at Motorino (with leftovers for tonight - meatballs and brussels sprout pizza)
It was a beautiful day out, perfect for walking. I love taking a day off just to hang out in the city, very relaxing! And topping it off with another panel at the Paley Center was great.
In other news, the garden is doing very well. We had some grasshoppers and/or cicadas eat up most of the sunflowers and pole beans we had planted, but I did a little replanting Saturday morning. The current garden tally:
5 cucumber plants (2 varieties)
9 tomato plants (all different varieties)
5 pepper plants (a few varieties here too)
2 eggplant plants (2 different varieties)
4 summer squash plants (4 different varieties)
3 muskmelon (cantaloupe) plants
3 varieties of pole beans (green beans, yellow wax beans, and romano beans)
Lots of herbs, strawberries, dahlias, sunflowers, and assorted other plants.
I know, crazy right? I'll take some pictures of the garden and post them. Everything is doing really well, and to help repel the grasshoppers/cicadas/unknown insect marauders I sprayed the plants with a natural spray made from hot peppers. Hopefully it's not tasty to the critters!
